NSG is able to conduct Spanish language neuropsychological evaluations. If you need language accommodations for your evaluation, please call or contact our office.
When you come in for your appointment, please bring any medical records and paperwork, a list of medications you’re currently taking, your referral form (if applicable), glasses or hearing aids, a valid form of ID (such as a Driver’s License or state-issued ID), and your insurance card.
Depending on the type of appointment, sessions may last anywhere between 4-8 hours (for testing and evaluation).
Depending on the type of appointment, it is often advantageous to bring someone with you to the evaluation (e.g., spouse, family member, etc.). If you are accompanied to the evaluation, you will need to determine if you would like that individual to participate in the clinical interview. This is not required, but can be beneficial. Completion of cognitive testing and self-report measures will be done alone.
This varies depending on the types of medications you use and the purpose. For example, if you require ADHD medication to focus, we may advise you to take your medication prior to your appointment to help you during the evaluation. On the other hand, if for example you take a medication that suppresses physical symptoms, those should be avoided as they may interfere with your evaluation. We highly advise patients to call or contact our office for specific guidance on this matter.
Yes, we will provide regular breaks throughout the session.
Most NSG office sites have small snacks along with water and coffee available to patients. For full-day evaluations we will break midday for lunch and will take additional breaks as needed.

The turnaround time for test results varies depending on the type of appointment and evaluation. Please note that feedback/results will usually go to your referring doctor to discuss with you. Patients are welcome to request their results, however.
